Some Additional Programs offered at South Metro Theraplay include:
Brain Gym: a program that uses physical movements to enhance learning and performance in areas such as concentration, memory, reading, writing, organizing, listening, physical coordination and more!
The Listening Program: a music-based auditory stimulation method that trains the brain to improve the auditory skills needed to effectively listen, learn and communicate. The Listening Program has helped individuals make improvements in many areas, including the following: attention span and focus, auditory sensitivity, social interaction, reading/spelling/handwriting and sensory integration.
Individual and Group Feeding Therapy Programs: a treatment method based upon the S.O.S. (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach. This program includes multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment for the management of feeding issues such as limited diets and texture aversion.
Individual and Group Handwriting Programs: utilizing the Handwriting Without Tears and Loops and Other Groups techniques as well as other individualized strategies to address each child's particular needs.
Kinesio Taping: a technique that uses elastic tape to assist muscle and other tissue function. It can be used to support muscles in movement and correct misalignment of joints. Kinesio Taping can be used as part of the treatment for brachial plexus injuries and torticollus.
